In 1962, Virtual Technologies Group (VTG) began as Conventional and Research Data Systems, Inc., also known as CARDS Incorporated. We got our start in Elida, Ohio, and expanded to Toledo one year later. Our original services included bank processing, data entry, payroll management, and printing report cards for local schools, banks, and businesses such as Pierce Construction, Midas Muffler, and Willis Day. We continue to serve a wide variety of industries to this day.
In 1981, CARDS Inc. consolidated with several other companies, including Office World and Assured Issuance Incorporated; made a shift to the computer and office supply industries; and took the name Office World, Inc. Our ability to adapt to industry changes accounts for our continued success along with that of our clients.
In 2006, Office World partnered with Toledo-based Virtual PCs to become Virtual Technologies Group. Since then, VTG has continued to acquire and work with complementary companies, such as Accolade Solutions Group, and with competitors, such as JCI Group. The success of our merger with Accolade Solutions Group resulted in the spin-off of our nationally recognized Comm-Core, LLC division. This move expanded our telecommunications solutions to include hosted video surveillance and security, among other services.
