MAUMEE, OH., June 7, 2016 — Virtual Technologies Group (VTG) is excited to announce that it has acquired Jacobson Computers Inc., doing business as JCI Group, in an asset purchase transaction. The two entities are eager to join forces and expand their service offerings & areas of expertise to all of the greater Northwest Ohio / Southern Michigan region. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 1980, JCI Group was led by CEO Gary Jacobson providing an entire line of IT services for every size business. They’ve served the Northwest Ohio and Southern Michigan region with services such as Disaster Recovery, VoIP telephony, Managed Services and more.
Prior to the acquisition, JCI Group’s ownership searched to find an agency with like-minded owners who cared about continuing to provide the best IT solutions while still providing top-class service to clients. Jacobson said, “Virtual Technologies Group and JCI Group were perfectly suited for one another. Each company’s mission focuses on high quality work that, at its core, revolves around a close partnership with the client.”
Chuck Greeley, CEO of VTG, says, “We’ve always held JCI Group in high regard for their reliable services and integrity. They’re a highly knowledgeable and experienced agency with a great client base. With this acquisition, VTG bolsters itself as the most experienced and future-minded IT consultants and solutions providers in the Greater Ohio region.”
Originally founded in 1962, Virtual Technologies Group now adds over 30 additional years of experience to expand its expertise and strengthen its presence in the IT solutions marketplace. VTG has grown considerably over the last 10 years, continuing its leadership in computer and network services while adding some of the industries’ most innovative telecommunications technologies to its operations.
While the company is growing, the focus hasn’t changed. VTG’s priority is to continue offering clients best-in-class services with unmatched results and individualized service, while providing employees a great place to fully utilize their skillsets and establish a career in the IT field. The combined company will continue operations under the Virtual Technologies Group name while the JCI Group brand will be retired effective immediately. Jacobson will remain with the company to serve as a consultant.
